Two tractor trailers were involved in a midmorning accident in the 2100 block of Caratoke Highway just north of the NC 34 / NC 168 intersection at Sligo. According to a passerby, the accident occured around 10 am, Tuesday morning in front of Powells Farm Market in Sligo.

Bomb Threat made on Chesapeake Bank

An unknown caller made a bomb threat against a Chesapeake Bank at approximately 10:00 a.m. Friday morning, relates a press release from the City of Chesapeake.

The Bank of Hampton Roads branch located at the 4700 block of South Battlefield Blvd - located just north of the NC / VA Border on Route 168 - received a call shortly after 10 am, advising bank personnel to place an undisclosed amount of cash into a vehicle and drive that vehicle to a location in North Carolina. According to the press release, the caller stated that if the bank failed to follow those directions, a bomb located in the bank would be exploded.
