Robbery Reported at Moyock Bank

A lone robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash after robbing the Gateway Bank location at 100 Moyock Commons Drive in Moyock on Friday afternoon.

According to information provided via a news release from the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office, at aproximately 3:50 pm Friday, the robber - a black male about 5 feet 9 inches in height and in his late thirties robbed the bank and then left on foot headed toward the adjacent Food Lion parking lot.

Moyock Bail Bondsman Arrested

Insurance Commissioner Jim Long today announced the arrest of Andrea Lee Grizzle, 41, of 101 Trinity Ln., Moyock. He was arrested by Department of Insurance investigators Monday and charged with failure to return bail bond collateral. He was processed at the Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office placed under a $3,000 unsecured bond.

Ferry Routes Suspended due to inclement weather

Due to high winds and water, the N.C. Department of Transportation’s ferry division has shut down six of its seven routes. The Bayview-Aurora ferry is currently operating on its normal schedule.  
The ferries are expected to resume operations when conditions improve. Passengers should call 1-800-BY-FERRY for updated information.
