Classified Advertising

FREE ADS:

• Yard Sales, Lost & Found and Free Pets

PAID ADS:

• 25 words or less: $2.50 per issue
• Additional Words: 10¢ per word per issue
• Photo Ads: add $2.50 per issue
• Boxed Ads: add $2.50 per issue
• Inverse Ads: add $2.50 per issue
• Display Ads: $2.50 per inch, 1 inch minimum
• Legal Notices: $7.50 per column inch
• Creditor’s Notices: $25 per week flat rate
• Classifieds must be placed no later than 5 p.m. on the Thursday prior to expected run date.
• Cancellations received after 5 p.m. on deadline Thursday will receive an ad credit for the amount of the cancelled run - no refunds will be afforded.

Display Advertising (ROP - Run of Paper)

• National Rate: $7.50 per column inch (commissionable)
• Local Rate: $6.80 per column inch (non-commissionable)
• Discount: Run the same ad for a second week, take a 33% discount
• All Political Advertising, Going Out of Business, etc is PAID IN ADVANCE
• Call our account executive for 13, 26 & 52 week rates
• Display Advertising must be placed no later than 5 p.m. on the Wednesday prior to expected run date.
• Cancellations of insertions received after 5 p.m. on deadline Wednesday will be charged a $50 cancellation fee.  Refunds of prepaid advertising will not be afforded.

Pre-printed Inserts

• $50 per 1000 (multi-page minis, tabs, or kraft sheets)
• $40 per 1000 (single sheet / folded sheet fliers)
• No additional charge for Zoning by Neighborhood or Zip Code
• 1,000 minimum quantity
• All inserts shipped to: The Independent • 150 Courthouse Rd • Currituck, NC 27929
• All inserts should be shipped in boxes on skids;
• Loose skid wrapped / packed inserts WILL NOT be accepted
• Inserts should be delivered no later than 5 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the insert date
• There will be a $50 charge for insertion orders cancelled within 7 days of the requested insert date

Errors and Omissions

• Advertisers and readers agree to hold harmless, The Independent or Independent Publishing, LLC for any error or omission in classified, display or insert advertising.
• The Independent and Independent Publishing, LLC will grant an additional week of advertising for errors or omissions detected in the first advertisement of any run.
• Errors or omissions detected after the initial run, will not be granted an advertising credit or refund
