The Independent is published and distributed Sunday of every week by Independent Publishing, LLC serving the citizens of Camden, Currituck, Dare, Pasquotank Counties and northeastern North Carolina. Correspondence and all other inquiries should be directed to our offices via US Mail, or email. All unsigned correspondence will be discarded.
Subscriptions: Call (252) 267-3332 or email: circulation@nencnews.com. Home delivery within Camden, Currituck, Dare, and Pasquotank Counties is $24.95 per year. Home delivery in all other areas is $39.95 per year. Single copies are 50¢ each.
The publisher reserves the right to change subscription rates during the term of a subscription upon 30 days notice. The notice may be made by mail to our subscribers, or by notice published in the newspaper itself, or otherwise. Subscription rate changes may be implemented by changing the duration of subscriptions.
Advertising Deadline: The deadline for display advertising placement is every Wednesday at 5 p.m. The deadline for classifieds, general announcements, and event listings is every Thursday at 5 p.m. Material(s) should be submitted at least two weeks in advance of the desire publication date. Material(s) received after the deadline may not be published in the current issue, and will be published in the next immediate issue.
Advertising Rates: Classified Advertising rates are based on word count of each listing (9 columns wide by 21 inches deep - 189 column inches per page). Display Advertising rates are based on column inches (6 columns wide by 21 inches deep - 126 column inches per page).
