At 12 noon today (Saturday, March 16, 2013) there appears to be a “controlled” burn being conducted at the residence located at 219 N. Gregory Rd, Shawboro, NC by the Crawford Volunteer Fire Department.
Traffic on the road is not blocked; however, due to fire personnel hauling water via tanker to the scene, travel on the road should be limited to local traffic only. When asked if they had thought to notify the Currituck Sheriff Department, so that they may control traffic on North Gregory Rd., one of the fire department personnel directing traffic replied “We’re not closing the road.”
