Avon, NC ~ Ernest Samuel Herring, 57, of Avon, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in his residence. Mr. Herring was born in Harrisonburg, VA and was a carpenter for 36 years. He attended St. John United Methodist Church and was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and the NFL. He loved beach life with his family, boating, fishing and enjoying the surf as well as being a fan of NASCAR racing.
Mr. Herring was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Samuel Herring, Sr. and his mother Margaret Brown Herring, and was the husband of Renee Warlitner Herring of the home.
Besides his wife surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Herring and Brittany H. Farrow and husband, Matthew both of Avon; one son, Dustin Herring also of Avon; one sister, Brenda Royston and husband, “Lou” of Timberville, VA; four grandchildren, Kaylie Farrow, Amerika Farrow, Matthew Farrow and Gavin Herring; a special nephew, “Bubby” Royston and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be in the private residence of “Lou” and Brenda Royston in Timberville, VA, Saturday February 9, 2013 from 1:00 pm until. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. John United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 129, Avon, NC 27915.
