COROLLA, N.C. - The Coast Guard is searching for a man who went missing Wednesday in the vicinity off Currituck Beach Lighthouse.
Coast Guard Sector North Carolina watchstanders received a phone call at 12:15 p.m., from Currituck County dispatch, reporting a 38-year-old man had fallen off his bodyboard and did not resurface.
A Coast Guard HH-60T helicopter aircrew from Air Station Elizabeth City, N.C., responded to the scene alongside Currituck County fire department, police, and emergency medical services personnel.
A Coast Guard Station Oregon Inlet rescue boatcrew was also dispatched to the scene to help assist in the search.
