Evans, Veronica - Obituary

Barco, NC - Veronica Annette Sawyer Evans, 66, of 592 Short Cut Road, Barco, NC died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Albemarle Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Reverne Seaton Sawyer and Ada Bell Ambrose Sawyer and the widow of Garland Junior Evans. She was a member of Grandy Assembly of God Church and an assistant teacher for Head Start. She is survived by a daughter, Alice Faye Evans of Barco, NC; two sons, Garland Lee Evans and Milton Dean Evans both of Moyock, NC; four sisters, Myrna Ambrose, Onic Sawyer, Polly Sawyer and Pam Walston; two brothers, Tony Sawyer and Seaton Sawyer; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday, July 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Poplar Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at the funeral home and at other times at the residence. Twiford Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is in charge of arrangements.
