Currituck County announced Monday, June 28 2010 that Robert Glover has been promoted to Interim Chief of the Currituck Fire–Emergency Medical Services Department. Chief Glover previously served Currituck as Fire-EMS Deputy Chief since Nov. 3, 2008.
Prior to joining the staff in Currituck County, Chief Glover served as a Brigade Chief for the City of Virginia Beach EMS. His career service includes 27 years in Virginia Beach, Va. and a stint as the Director of Public Safety in Accomack County, Va.
Chief Glover succeeds former Currituck Fire-EMS Chief Michael Carter, who left Currituck County to pursue professional opportunities elsewhere. Chief Carter’s last official day in Currituck County was Friday, June 25, 2010.
