Palmer defeats Nelms in District 3 Primary

In the May 4th Democratic Primary for the District 3 seat on the Currituck County Board of Commissioners, challenger David Palmer of Barco, defeated incumbent commissioner Barry Nelms of Poplar Branch.

Palmer carried 67% (1058 total) of the total votes cast to Nelms’ 33% (519).

In the breakdown of votes by precinct, Nelms carried only two precincts: Gibbs Woods and Powells Point. Palmer carried the remaining 9 precincts.
