The Currituck County Sheriff’s Office invites the public to an Officer Memorial Service on Friday, May 14, 2010. This special event will be held at 12:15 p.m. at the Cooperative Extension facility.
The event will feature remarks by Currituck Sheriff Susan Johnson and Board of Commissioners’ Chairman Paul O’Neal. Captain Glen McCranie of the Chaplin Corps, U.S. Navy (Ret.) will offer a prayer and devotion. Also, the choir from Currituck County High School will perform songs during the memorial service.
Currituck County’s memorial service is being held in conjunction with the Fallen Officer Memorial Ride 2010 , which is a statewide event organized by the North Carolina Project Lifesaver Specialized Team . Officers from across the state will participate in a memorial motorcycle ride from May 7 - 15, traveling through all 100 counties in North Carolina to honor all officers that have fallen in the line of duty.
