Currituck County Emergency Management will host a hurricane preparedness and summer safety workshop on Wednesday, April 14, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Corolla Light Sports Center in Corolla. The seminar will provide Currituck County tourism related businesses with information on the 2010 hurricane season outlook, evacuation and re-entry procedures, rip current safety (red flag warnings), storm debris clean up, and other topics to better prepare participants for the summer tourist season. Accommodation providers and representatives from activities, attractions, restaurants and retail businesses are encouraged to attend. To register, call the Currituck County Welcome Center (435-2947) by April 9.
