National Weather Service radar indicates that a line of severe thunderstorms is currently moving through the area. The line of storms extends from Virginia Beach, southwest toward Edenton and Central North Carolina.
The storms will be affecting the following localities within 30 minutes:
Chesapeake, Va
Moyock, NC
Currituck, NC
Maple, NC
Shawboro, NC
Camden, NC
Elizabeth City, NC
Hertford, NC
Edenton, NC
Areas east of the above line should expect the storms within 1 hour.
The Weather Service warns to expect heavy rainfall, strong winds, dangerous lightning and small hail as these storms pass. Drives on local highways shold be cautious for ponding water and localized flooding.
