Corolla Fishing Report : Wednesday

Chris Foster of Corolla Bait and Tackle reports catches of sea mullet in the surf using bloodworms and squid, Tailor blues on mullet and mullet fillets and scattered flounder using squid or mullet. According to Chris there have been reports of some croaker and spot being caught on bottom rigs using blood worms or shrimp.

Surf conditions on the northern beaches are currently calm, with clear water conditions and ocean temperatures near 73 degrees.

According to Justin Stewart at TW’s Bait and Tackle in Corolla there are lots of sea mullet being caught in the surf along the north beaches, using bottom rigs and blood works.

Justin reminds surf anglers that spot and croaker are a summer staple of fisherman along the beaches, with the same bottom rig and blood worms. Flounder have started showing up and are being caught on cut squid.

A few puppy drum have been caught using cut mullet and shrimp on the incoming to high tide.

According to Justin, there will be someone on site Sunday through Wednesday booking charters for boats out of Oregon Inlet.
