Thomas B. Semans, 81, of Virginia Beach, died on Saturday, May 9, at Sentara Bayside Hospital.
Born in Uniontown, Penn., he was the son of the late Dorothy and Charles Lowry Semans and the widower of the late Ruby Dowdy Semans.
He served in the US Navy for 13 years before working for more than 50 years for the US Postal Service. He loved old movies, particularly musicals and comedies.
Surviving are his daughters, Sandy Semans Ross and husband Jay of Stumpy Point, and Dorothy Semans Clark and husband Kevin of Virginia Beach; granddaughter, Nancy Varner-Snyder of Buffalo, NY; grandsons, Brian Varner and Doug Varner, both of Colorado, and Tommy Farrar of Virginia Beach; six great-grandchildren; and sister Merlyn Carter and husband Marvin of Ahoskie.
Services were held May 14 at Kellum Funeral Home in Virginia Beach with internment at Princess Anne Memorial Gardens.
