Betty Rogers Sheep, 84, of 403 West Main Street, Elizabeth City, NC died at Winslow Memorial Home on Sunday, April 12, 2009. Born in New Bern, NC, she was the widow of Matthew Leigh Sheep, Jr. and daughter of the late John and Lillian Jones Rogers. She was a retired telephone operator for Sprint Telephone Co.

Mrs. Sheep is survived by one son Matthew Lawrence Sheep of Bloomington, Illinois; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by two sons Matthew Leigh Sheep, III, and Matthew Laird Sheep.

Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel. Burial of the Cremated remains will be at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the lobby of the funeral Home immediately following the service and other times at the residence of her daughter in law Michelle Sheep, 700 Dryridge Road.
