Bruce Evone Huffman, 58, of 507 Gaulberry Road, Elizabeth City, NC died Friday, April 10, 2009 as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was a native of Onslow County, NC. Mr. Huffman was the son of Raleigh Bruce Huffman of Elizabeth City, NC and the late Gertie Mae Jarmen Huffman. He was the husband of Patricia Faye “Patsy” Delaney Huffman, and a shop supervisor for the Facilities Engineering Division at the USCG Support Center.

Besides his wife and father he is survived by two daughters Frances Lynn Spruill and husband Robert of Roper, NC and Sherry Evone Huffman of Elizabeth City, NC; one son David Scot Simonds of Hertford, NC; two sisters, Connie Mae Guillaume and husband Jay of Elizabeth City, NC and Alice Faye Johnson and husband Dennis of Marietta, GA; nine grandchildren, Dustin and Shelby Spruill, Michael and Jeffery Staples, William Huffman, Codie McDonald, Brandy Streiffert, Jessica Simonds and David Simonds Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 2:00 PM in Twiford Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church St,. Elizabeth City, NC by Minister Mike Duffer and Chaplain Mark Tannis. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
