Cartwright, Jarvis P. - Obituary

Norfolk resident

Jarvis Phillip Cartwright, 87, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Bon Secours DePaul Hospital. Mr. Cartwright served our country proudly with the U.S. Navy during WWII retiring after 20 years of service. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 59 years Dorothy Reid Cartwright; two daughters; Lois C. Dustin and Nancy C. Williams and husband, Lawrence; two sons, Matthew P. Cartwright and wife, Wendy and Luther “Bill” Cartwright and wife, Kathy ; eight grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel is assisting the family.
