Wayne “Tiny” Blount, 61, of Washington D.C., died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 20, 2009 at Mount Sania Baptist Church, located at 3rd St. NW, Washington D.C. at 11 a.m. Mr. Blount was the husband of the late Michelle Blount and the son of the late Waldorf and Nellie Blount. Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Blount; one granddaughter, Arionna Cooper; and one grandson, DeOntae Britton, all of the home; three sisters, Jean B. Harper and husband, John, of Orangeburg, S.C., Bernice Blount of Rocky Mount, and Faye Gatling of Elizabeth City; two brothers, Waldorf Blount of Elizabeth City, Larry Blount and wife, Barbara, of Baltimore, Md.; one aunt, Gloria Barclift, of Elizabeth City.; one uncle, John Henry Blount and wife, Sarah, of Elizabeth City; one brother-in-law, Willie Gatling, of Elizabeth City; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rivers Community Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
