Dozier, Ambrose Walston, V : Obituary

Ambrose Walston “A.W.” Dozier, V, age 59, of 149 Elizabeth Circle, Moyock, NC died Thursday, March 5, 2009 in Williamston, NC. Mr. Dozier was born in Currituck County, NC, the son of the late Ambrose Walston Dozier and Ruby Swain Dozier and was the husband of Phyllis Copeland Dozier. He was employed with Barnhill Contracting and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Besides his wife, Mr. Dozier is survived by two daughters, Amber Lynn Stout and husband, Mark, of Elizabeth City, NC and Krystal Leigh Dozier- Bass and husband, Richard, of Hertford, NC; a step-daughter, Robin Robel, of Ohio; three step-sons, Michael Thomas Thornley and wife, Stacey, of Shawboro, NC, J. Thornley and Stacy Marriner of Elizabeth City, NC; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, Sylvia Dozier and Wanda D. Burgess and one brother, Gregg Dozier.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Twiford Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC by Rev. James Harrington. The family will receive friends in the lobby of the funeral home immediately following the service and other times at the residence. Twiford Funeral Homes, 405 E.
