Swinson, Ara : Obituary

South Mills, NC - Ara Dean Priest Swinson, 70, of 114 Swinson Road, South Mills, NC died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at her residence. Ms. Swinson was born on April 26, 1938 in Roanoke Rapids, NC to the late John Priest and Carriebell Ray Priest and was the wife of Jimmy Swinson.

Besides her husband, Ms. Swinson is survived by two daughters, Susan M. Swinson and husband, Bob, of Wyoming and Cynthia G. Morris and husband, Joe, of Newport, NC; three sons, Kenneth R. Swinson and wife, Holly, of South Mills, NC, Steven D. Swinson and wife, Theresa, of Shiloh, NC and Baron Tyson of Norfolk, VA; a sister, Delores Payne of Chesapeake, VA; two brothers, John Priest, Jr. of West Virginia and Dennis Priest of Chesapeake, VA; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Swinson.

A private memorial service will take place at a later date. Twiford Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC, is assisting the Swinson family. Condolences may be expressed to the family at
