Kill Devil Hills - Larry Douglas “Doug” Gaimel, Jr., 41, of Colington, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Outer Banks Hospital. Doug was born in Long Beach, CA and was a painter. He was the son of Regina Outlaw Gaimel Zeiner and the late Larry Douglas Gaimel, Sr.. He was a volunteer fireman with the Colington VFD and loved the beach and bass boats.
Doug is survived by his mother, Reginia Outlaw Gaimel Zeiner and husband, Fritz of Chester, VA; aunts, Rita Lafferty and Marian Daniels; uncles, Woody Outlaw, Russell Outlaw, Jimmy Outlaw, Maynard Outlaw and wife, Sandi, Bobby Gaimel and Donnie Gaimel; special friends Tish and Mary Whitehurst and family; and Doug’s friend and hero, Clifton Flowers.
A graveside service will be held at Hilltop Cemetery, Colington, on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Roger Barnett officiating. The family will receive friends at Twiford Funeral Home, Manteo on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 pm and at other times at the home of Maynard and Sandi Outlaw, 1672 Colington Rd, Kill Devil Hills, NC.
