Currituck County Schools will be closed Monday, March 2 due to hazardous road conditions in parts of the county.
The school system originally sent out an alert at 6:17 a.m. Monday morning that the school system would be operating on a 2 hour delay.
At approximately 7:39 a.m. a second message was sent out via email alert that the school system would in fact be closed for the day.
Weather forecasters are calling for strong northwest winds, dropping temperatures, and a continued chance of snow through the day.
Resident’s can expect clearing Tuesday with frigid temperatures.
