Scott, Grace White : Obituary

Elizabeth City, NC - Mrs. Grace White Scott, 91, of 919 Selby Road, Elizabeth City, NC died Friday, February 27, 2009 at Guardian Care Nursing Home. Mrs. Scott, a native of Pasquotank County, was the daughter of the late Herman E. White and Sallie Sanders White and the wife of James Selby Scott of the residence. She was a homemaker and a member of The First Baptist Church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Ann S. Cartwright and husband James L. of Elizabeth City, NC; two grandsons, Scott Cartwright and wife Holly of Elizabeth City, NC, and Ashley Cartwright and wife Cassie of Camden, NC; four great grandchildren, Tylor Cartwright, Jacob Cartwright, Haley Cartwright, and Laney Cartwright; and a niece Mary Bruton. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Edrie Virginia Scott and a sister, Marian W. Nixon.

A funeral service will be Monday, March 2, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Twiford’s Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mason Smith officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the lobby of the funeral home and at other times at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to The First Baptist Church, PO Drawer 402, Elizabeth City, NC 27907-0402 or a charity of one’s choice.
