Aydlett, NC< /strong> - We remember you in this solemn hour, our dear Mom, when your tender love watched over us like a guardian angel. You have gone from us, to be with our Heavenly Father and your beloved husband Bill, but the bond, which unites our souls can never be severed. The image of you will live within our hearts always. Your heavenly reward has come because of love, faithfulness and the caring and kindness you always exhibited to others.
Born in Norfolk, VA and raised in Avon, NC, Lucille graduated from Avon High School in 1941. Soon after, she married William Mol with whom she celebrated over sixty-five years of marriage. Together they raised five children, spending much of their lives in Mystic, Connecticut. He predeceased her just one year
ago.
She leaves five children and their spouses: Bill Mol & Paige, James Mol & Nancy, Charlotte Neal & Barry, Glenda Dexter & Tom, Patti Roma & David. She will be missed by her grandchildren, as well. They are William Mol III, James Mol Jr., Gretchen Mol Williams, Gregory & Joshua Neal, Katie Dexter, Heather & Nicholas Roma. Her great grandchildren are William Mol IV, Parker Mol, Savannah Neal and Ptolemy Williams. Lucille is also survived by her siblings, Norma Richardson, Billy Gray and Marjorie Martin, as well as her extended family and many friends.
A member of the Order of The Eastern Star,Fidelity Chapter #54, she was also a “Gray Lady” volunteer at the USCG Academy Hospital. She later owned and operated The Victorian Vanity fine lingerie boutique in Mystic, CT.
Lucille and Bill retired to the Outer Banks, the area in which they began their journey together. They lived there for nearly 30 years.
In celebration of her life, a service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, 7 March at St. John United Methodist Church in Avon, NC where she sang in the choir in her youth. Burial will be at the Gray family cemetery in Buxton following the service. Memorial donations may be made to the church at P O Box 129, Avon NC 27915 or Albemarle Hospice, P O Box 189, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
