The “Shooting for the Stars” Child Care Conference will be held Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Currituck County Center in Barco, NC.
The day will feature a keynote speaker; 18 educational sessions on topics such as Conversational Spanish, Autism, Recognizing Child Abuse, Behavior Intervention Strategies, Diversity, Outdoor Learning, Grossology - Exploring Science, Nutrition and more. Teachers and child care providers will receive 5.5 contact hour educational credits approved by the state division of Child Development for their certification. There are topics addressing the needs of teachers for infants, toddlers, preschool and school age youth. Those who are considering child care as a profession are encouraged to attend as well.
Cost for the day will be $20 per person, and will include educational sessions as well as lunch, morning refreshments and a participant gift.
