Students in Donna Talbert’s World View/Honors English classes at the J.P. Knapp Early College High School were instructed to create a 30-60 second “commercial” about the novels they’d just completed. They began with a storyboard, then included photos or video, music, script, and voice over. The ad could be in the form of a book trailer or other electronic media. Students used photo story in class, however, they used movie maker, PowerPoint, pod casts, and any other media they wanted to use. Thanks to Currituck County Schools’ Technology Facilitator, Kathryn Blades, the students were able to get some help and tutorials on using the aforementioned software programs. Talbert said the commercials were great. This is just another way that students of the J.P. Knapp Early College High School are integrating multiple subject areas for a single project. Great work students!
