Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Lanier Cansler today announced the appointment of Dr. Jeffery P. Engel, M.D., as North Carolina State Health Director. One fatality has resulted from a helicopter crash at US Training Co / Xe (formerly Blackwater Worldwide) in Camden earlier today (Tuesday).
Camden County manager, Randell Woodruff confirmed that a helicopter crash was reported, with 1 person injured and another whose condition is unknown. According to Woodruff the crash occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m., with Nightingale dispatched to the scene.

The controversial security firm Blackwater, involved in the shooting of Iraqi civilians, is changing its name.
Company President Gary Jackson says “effective immediately” the name for the firm’s parent company has been changed to Xe, pronounced “zee”.
Subsidiaries of the U.S.-based firm are also being changed, with Blackwater Lodge and Training Center, best-known for preparing workers for overseas operations, now to be called the U.S. Training Center.
The Lower Currituck Volunteer Fire Department (LCVFD) is operating at full capacity and will maintain its full coverage area while the Powell’s Point station undergoes an improvement project. Bay repairs are expected to be completed within three months, and the total structure rehab is estimated for completion within eight months.

With each toaster purchase, you get a coupon for a free bank. Some of the coupons are for Bear Stearns, Countrywide, and Freddie Mac, you get the idea. Limit one per customer.
Seriously, though, it seems that the White House,Democrats, and Republicans have finally realized what most of us already knew – that the housing crisis is what most Americans think is our most pressing economic problem and we should fix it right away.
