<img src=”/images/blockcaps/a.jpg” alt=”Capital A” border=”0″> lrighty, I have a one question for ya!” exclaimed the Old Fart. Bubba and LeRoy had wandered into the Currituck Shell, only to be cornered by one of themembers of the illustrious Currituck Speaker’s Bureau.
“Where do YOU stand on the OLF?” he pressed Bubba for an answer.
Bubba scratched his head, contemplating an answer. Not that he really had to think about it, but he thought he’d have some fune with the Old Fart.
“Well, perhaps you should pose that question to Ol’ Top Gun,” replied Bubba, answering the pressing question, with an even greater challenge.
LeRoy watched silently, as Bubba negotiated the treacherous waters.
“Don’t you think it’s curious that Top Gun is all out against the OLF, calling it the greatest threat our county has ever faced, when he turns around and pushes an airport down the throat of the fine citizens of Maple?” Bubba drove, clearly having the Old Fart off balance.
Bubba could see the wheels turning, slow as they may be.
“You know that is right strange, them fellas have a shower, conference room, lockers and the whole nine yards - it’s a veritable country club out there at the flightstrip,” the Old Fart chimed.
Bubba nodded, asking “now you have to ask yourself, why is Top Gun getting all bent outta shape over the Navy gettin’ theirs, when he already has his down at Maple?”
Leroy watched as Bubba turned the tables on the conversation. “Isn’t it all about airplanes and their noise flying over house?” Bubba pushed the point.
The pair strode out of the “hornets nest” unscathed, as the discussion continued boiling behind them.
