The Captioned Telephone is a useful item that makes communication much easier for individuals who are hard of hearing or deaf. The Currituck Senior Center will host a presentation of the Captioned Telephone on January 8, 2009.
This presentation is open to persons of all ages, and will begin at 11:00 a.m., in the Currituck Senior Center.
The Captioned Telephone works like any other telephone with one important addition: It displays every word the caller says throughout the conversation on a bright display screen. CapTel users can listen to the caller while reading the written captions on the screen.
