The newly sworn in Board of Commissioners selected a new chairman and vice chairman at their Monday December 1 meeting.

Receiving unanimous approval after nomination for the position of Chairman was Commissioner Owen Etehridge (R - District 4) Etheridge has served for the last two years as the lone Republican on the board. Selected as vice-chairman was newly re-elected commissioner Paul O’Neal (R - At Large). Neither Etheridge or O’Neal are strangers to the role of Chairman and Vice Chairman, as they have both served in this capacity at various times during their tenure on the Board since the early 1990’s.
