Armstrong, Robert Leroy - Obituary

Moyock - Robert Leroy Armstrong, 56 departed this life on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008 at Albemarle Hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Currituck County and the son of the late James Rudolph Armstrong Sr. and Marion Jeannette Armstrong. He was a member of Corinth Missionary Baptist. Robert attended the public schools of Currituck County and graduated from Joseph P. Knapp High School in 1970. Shortly after high school he joined he U.S. Air Force where he served for a short time and was honorably discharged. He leaves to cherish his memory; a mother, Marion Jeannette Armstrong of the home, four brothers; James R. Armstrong Jr (Miami) of Kuwait City, Kuwait, Tony W. Armstrong (Joanne) of Grandy, N.C.; Jeffrey Armstrong of the home; Daniel Saunders (Brenda) of Portsmouth, Va.; three sisters, Florence D. Wilson (Rickey) of Camden, N.C.; Myra A. Barnes (Rickie) of Virginia Beach, Va., Linda J. Everette of the home; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special friend Thelma Case of Elizabeth City, N.C. A viewing will be Friday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008 at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A.C. Robinson and Son Funeral, 1100 Southern Ave, Elizabeth City is serving the Armstrong Family.
