Strock, Frank – Obituary

Southern Shores – Frank “Zeke” Strock of 234 N. Dogwood Trail, Southern Shores, NC, passed away peacefully in his home with his family and friends near on Monday afternoon, December 1, 2008.  Zeke’s wife of 27 years, Helen, passed away December 1, 1981.
Zeke’s most important work was being Grandpa to his beloved granddaughter, Lilly Helen Ramm, of the home.  Also surviving of the home are daughter, Suzie Strock-Ramm, and son-in-law and wonderful friend, Scott Ramm.
In addition, Zeke is survived by a son, Frank J. Strock of Claridon, Ohio, a sister in law, Ilene Strock of Asheville, NC, brother, Don Strock, Sr. of National Park, New Jersey;  nieces and nephews, Jay Strock, Justin Damore, Linda Strock Kernick, Jerry Kernick; Donnie, Carol, Melissa and Amanda Strock.  Zeke was predeceased by his sister Guyulia “Guy” Strock-Wirl of Poway, California and brother, Gilbert Strock of Asheville, NC.
Zeke was an Army Veteran and served in the Korean War, a carpenter by trade and a member of Carpenters Local Union No. 95.  He was an avid gardener, a handyman extraordinaire and devoted lover of animals.
An open house will be held at the residence, 234 N. Dogwood Trail, Southern Shores, NC  27949, Sunday, December 14 from 3 to 6 P.M., with the memorial service at 5 PM.
In lieu of flowers, Zeke requested donations to the SPCA of the Outer Banks, PO Box 1000, Manteo, NC 27954 or Dare County Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 1000, Manteo, NC 27954.
