The National Weather Service at Wakefield, Va., has issued a wind advisory through this evening for northeastern North Carolina, including the Albemarle region.

DMV Mobile Unit

Currituck Arts Council offers Watercolors Class

Commissioner’s Meeting Cancelled

The last meeting to convene a 5 member board, the first meeting to see a 7 member board, and the last meeting for veteran board member Ernie Bowden.
Bowden holds the distinction as one of Currituck County’s longest serving commissioners - serving six terms total - four of those consecutively from 1992 through 2008.

Third attempt to be made to dredge Whalehead Channel

Currituck County has enlisted the services of a former director of a state environmental agency in renewed efforts to dredge the boat channel leading into the Whalehead Club boat basin.

Charles Jones - former director of the North Carolina Division of Coastal Management (DCM) - is expected to work as a consultant for Currituck County in their most recent attempt to dredge the channel leading to the boat basin.
