Hudgins, JoAnn Christie - Obituary

JoAnn Christie Hudgins, 70, passed away November 25, 2008 after a long, courageous battle with dementia. She was born August 7, 1938 in Newport News, VA and attended Newport News High School. She was a Vice President of Centralite Supply,co-owner of Saluda General Store and JoChris Designs. She was also a manager with Cato Fashions for 12 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Evelyn Christie, brother, Fred Christie, Jr and in-laws, Lucille and Charles R Downey. JoAnn leaves behind her devoted husband of 56 years, Lewis Hudgins, Jr.; one son Gary Hudgins, both of Kill Devil Hills, NC; one daughter, Christie Matthews (Carlton) of Gloucester, VA; her grandchildren, April Rhodes (Marty), Megan Farinholt (Rob), Chip and Lindsay Matthews; her great grandchildren Tyler Brandt, Nicolas and Noah Rhodes; her brother-in-law, Butch Downey (Libby), sister in law Sharon Splinter (Dick), many cousins, nieces and nephews and Abby, her loving Pekinese.
