Insurance Commissioner Jim Long today announced the arrest of Andrea Lee Grizzle, 41, of 101 Trinity Ln., Moyock. He was arrested by Department of Insurance investigators Monday and charged with failure to return bail bond collateral. He was processed at the Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office placed under a $3,000 unsecured bond.
Department investigators allege the following:
Grizzle, a licensed bail bondsman and owner of Grizzle Bail Bonding, collected collateral on a bond he wrote in April. After Pasquotank County Court disposed of the case in June, Grizzle failed to remit the $2,550 collateral to the defendant’s father who initially paid Grizzle. By law, bail bondsmen must return bond collateral within 72 hours of the case being disposed by the court.
Grizzle is scheduled to appear in Pasquotank County Court today.
