Bendig, Mary
Mary “Mae” Bendig, 87, of the 500 block of Poyners Road, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 in Chesapeake. Born in Pennsylvania, Mae was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Circle of Friends Senior Center, and Housewives Brunch Bowling League, all in Aliquippa, Pa. She was also a member of Currituck Senior Center and an avid Bingo player. Mae was the widow of Frank J. Bendig and is survived by a daughter, Diana Raymo and husband, Skip, of Moyock, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Sue Bendig; six grandchildren, Shawn Davis and wife, Terri, Michelle Lay, Shannon Bellio, Erin Bendig, Robert McGuffin and wife, Angie, and Ben Raymo; six great-grandchildren, Joshua and Zacherie Lay, Shane Davis, Jake, Hunter and Macy McGuffin; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Allen Bendig and Frank J. Bendig Jr. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel. Services will be at a later date in Aliquippa, Pa.
